My Personality~Angela A. 1A

My family is a small family. I have a little sister named Allison, a mom named Victoria, and a dad named John. I also have a really fat cat named Pepper. My mom’s side of the family I have four cousins and two aunts and uncles. On my dad’s side of the family I have six aunts and six uncles. All together, my family is pretty big. Christmas is the best time of the year because my whole family gathers together and enjoys each other around the Christmas tree. My basic family—my mom, dad and sister – love to travel all over the country. We really haven’t traveled to a lot of states, but we have been to eight out of the fifty states. We mostly traveled by car, only to Florida that we flew.

Some of my inherited features is I have blue eyes. I get the blue eyes from my mom, and she got them from my grandma. Blue eyes run in the family. Another inherited feature is I have brown hair. Brown hair runs in my family also. I get my brown hair mostly from my grandma. She says that I have her color hair. Another inherited feature is that I’m really short. I also get the shortness from my grandma. She is four foot five and I’m not the only in my family that is really short. My cousin who is twenty-one years old is about four foot three.

For my outer appearance, I love shopping at AĆ©ropostale. Their clothes there are really cute there and the only thing is it is really expensive. Kohl’s is another place where I like to shop. They have cute clothes and shoes there. What’s nicer about it is it is usually cheaper. I also love to wear jeans and jeans is my favorite type of clothing. You can wear any shirt with it and it will match.

Some inherited traits is that my eye sight is 20/20. I took the eye test here at school and they said that I had eye sight of 20/20. Another inherited trait is I’m right handed. I do everything with my right hand. The worse inherited trait is I have allergies. Every day I have to take medication to calm down my allergies. I’m allergic to dust, mold, dander, pollen, and cat hair. Trust me, it is not fun.

For my social behavior I love to hang out with friends. Going to basketball games with them is my favorite thing to do with them because it is a fun way to hang out. I also like going to the movies. Sitting down, eating popcorn and drinking soda, while you’re watching a new movie on a huge screen, is just amazing. On a huge TV screen I love to watch the Bucks game. They are my favorite basketball team and are very good at playing basketball. One time me and best friend went to a Bucks game and we had the time of our lives.

Some talents and abilities I have is I can play the drum set and the piano. Playing the piano and drums is really fun to play and I’m really good at it. I compete in WSMA solo ensemble—where you learn music pieces and you perform in front of a judge – and lately I have been getting excellent scores. An ability I have is I love to play basketball and to swim. I’m on the select basketball team and I love it. Although it is hard to believe that the season is so close from being over. Another ability is I love to swim. In high school I want to join the swim team because I love being in the water and I have past experience on swimming.

For my inside personality, my main goal for a future plan is to graduate from college with at least a master’s degree on becoming veterinarian or a teacher. I haven’t decided which one I want to be yet, but I’m leaning towards the veterinarian because I love animals. Another future plan is I want to get married and have two children, one boy and one girl.

Some of my favorite foods are chicken al fredo and steak. Chicken al fredo is noodles with this cream cheese type sauce. It is so good. In Florida, they have the best Chicken al fredo. It has the perfect amount sauce and the chicken is so tender. Steak is my favorite type of meat. It’s juicy, tender, and is the best with Heinz 57 sauce. I liked it prepared medium-rare and have it with mash potatoes. One vegetable I strongly dislike, celery. Celery tastes weird to me. I don’t like the strings that come off of the vegetable and the only time I will eat celery is if it is with peanut butter.

One thing I am deadly afraid of is bugs, to be more specific, spiders. They are just creepy when they crawl along the floor or hanging from the ceiling. Every time I think of a spider, I think of it crawling up my leg or arm and it really creeps me out. One pet peeve is when people talk on their cell phone and they go really slow. The road speed limit is 50 miles per hour, and they are driving 10 miles under the speed limit. It is so annoying, and that is how most people get into car accidents, they don’t pay attention to the road, they pay attention to their phone. I’m also kind of stage fright. When I’m on stage, I get kind of nervous. I get nervous mostly when I’m either playing an instrument such as the drums, or the piano.

I can’t wait till spring. That is my favorite season. I just love when the flowers come out, the sun comes out, and it is all nice and warm. It is one of the most beautiful seasons of the year and it’s not too hot and it’s not too cold. My favorite color is purple. Everything in my room is basically purple. My walls are purple and my bed is purple. My favorite number is five. Seems kind of weird but, five is my favorite number because at my old school, I played basketball in fifth and sixth grade. When I was in sixth grade, playing Country Christian, we were down by two and only a thirty-seconds left in the game. That is where I made my first three pointer. The ball went into the hoop and we won the game. Five is my lucky number because that was my number when I scored my first three pointer.

One thing that makes me sad the most is Mondays. Mondays are just a pain. Waking up every morning to go to school is tiring and that is the slowest day of the week too. What makes me happy is the sun. I just love the light of the sun, it is very calming to me. I also love my family and my family makes me happy. Doing activities with them warms my heart.

One life experience is I have won a lot of ribbons and medals. Most of them are from sports. In baseball I received a silver and a bronze medal. In swimming I received so many ribbons that I can’t even count them and in basketball I received a two silver medals and one bronze medal. Another life experience is I have been to eight out of the fifty states. I have been to Minnesota, Missouri, Illinois, Virginia, Florida, Michigan, Ohio, and Washington D.C.. We mostly went there because of amusement parks. One sad life experience was that my grandpa died. I was four years old when he died. He died on April 27. I miss him so much now. He was really nice and I remember him always giving me quarters.

Personality Project - Olivia R.

Family
My immediate family includes four people; my mom, Nancy, my dad, Kip, my brother, Evan, and me, Olivia. I’ve put three pictures on this slide to show some of my family’s traditions and also to show my family. The bottom picture is of my family. This picture was taken during Thanksgiving while we were up in Rhinelander at my uncle’s house. My dad’s side of the family is really close, so we go up to Rhinelander often, which I guess you could say is a tradition. The picture on the left is of my cousin, Robert, and me by a waterfall. I’m not exactly sure where this picture was taken but I know it was taken when we were camping. Every summer my family and my uncle Kirk’s family go camping way up north to camp. It’s so fun! The picture on the right was also taken when we were camping.

Inherited Features
I have many inherited features, but the one I get the most comments about is my mom’s laugh. A lot of my friends and family say I laugh and smile exactly like my mom. Another very visible feature is my height. I’m pretty tall which comes from my dad’s side of the family. My mom’s side is really, really short so I obviously don’t get any height from there. But my daddy is 6’1’’ so that’s where my height comes from. My hazel eyes come from my mommy. I have a spot of brown in one of my eyes, which comes from my dad. He has brown eyes.

Outer Appearance
Obviously, outer appearance is the part of you that everyone sees so most people spend a lot of time making themselves look pretty. Every morning I wake up and use my Chi straightener to straighten my hair. At night I take a shower and use Nexus shampoo and conditioner. And most of my clothes are from American Eagle, Abercrombie & Fitch, and Nike. All these things I have represented with a picture on my slide.

Inherited Traits
One of the most annoying inherited traits that I’ve gotten is my teeth. I’ve had my braces on for a year and a half and I have to keep them on until June. Both my parents needed braces. Another thing that’s kind of annoying but not as bad is I have to wear contacts. My dad has worn glasses/contacts his whole life. He is near-sighted and so am I. Another inherited trait is I use my right hand. Most people do so that’s not that unique. I’m sure that I’ve inherited more traits than just three from my family but that’s all I can think of for now.

Social Behavior
I guess I would say I am very social. I am on the Pewaukee select basketball team. This I represent by putting the picture of me playing basketball. Also, I have a picture of my birthday with my friends and my brother. After we ate cake we went bowling with even more people. It was a blast! In the bottom right corner I have a picture ofall my friends at homecoming. And in the upper left corner there’s a picture of cards. Playing cards is something I do all the time with my family and friends.

Talents, Skills, Abilities
I’ve done dance for 10 years, and I represent this in the picture in the left corner. This was taken by my mom when I had a performance downtown. I also have a picture of my basketball team in the upper right corner. This was taken at a party we had. Another thing I am representing is my love of music. The bottom picture is of music notes. I’ve been in choir most of the years of my life. I love singing!

Future Plans
I have a lot of future plans but the one that’s most important to me right now, is going to college. I want to go to UW Madison. I also want to get married and have a family. Along with that I would like to live in a huge house on the lake. But before I do all this, I want to move up north. I’ve always told everyone that as soon as I graduate from college, I’m moving up north and never moving back. Hayward, WI is where my cabin is and it is also my favorite place in the world. The picture in the bottom right corner is of a sunset near my cabin.

Eating Habits
My favorite restaurant of all time is Seester’s. It’s right by the beach. I go there almost every week. Even though I love Seester’s my favorite food is still ice cream. I have a picture of an ice cream sundae on my slide. I like a lot of food but there’s a lot of food I don’t like. Two things I really don’t like are Sushi and Salmon, but I only have a picture of Sushi.

Fears and Pet Peeves
Many of my fears are small, but my largest fear is of roller coasters. The summer going into 6th grade I went to Six Flags with my family. The very first roller coaster I rode was the Demon. When I got off I was so scared, I was surprised that I didn’t die. Along with this idea, I have a picture of an RIP. This represents death. I am so afraid of death; death among my family and myself dieing. The last picture I have on my slide is meant to represent something that annoys me. When people lie or cheat, I can not stand it.

Favorites
I have many ‘favorites’ but the things that rise above everything else, I’ve represented in my slide. The picture in the upper left corner shows how much I love Taylor Swift. She is my all time favorite singer, I have all her songs on my ipod. Below is a picture of Snoopy with a Christmas tree. Obviously this is showing my favorite holiday is Christmas. Next to that picture is a beautiful orange tree, this represents my favorite season; fall. Another thing I have represented in this slide is my friends. My favorite thing to do is be with my friends; they are so important to me and I love to be with them. Along with this I have a number 11. Eleven is my basketball number and it is also my favorite number.

Emotions & Feelings
When it comes to emotions and feelings, I would have to say my friends and family cause the most emotions. My brother and cousins can be really annoying and make me frustrated but they can also make me feel like the happiest person in the world. I’ve made so many good memories with them and I will always appreciate that. Another emotion about my family that I always seem to feel is excitement. My whole family lives way up north so anytime I’m going to see them, I get so excited. My friends, on the other hand, they can make me laugh and cry. I can be so mad at them one second but then the next second I can be so happy with them.

Life Experiences
My parents have done a really good job of exposing my brother and me to all different places. We’ve been to Colorado, the Caribbean, upper Michigan, upper Minnesota, Florida. Even though I’ve been so many places; still my favorite place in the world is Hayward, WI. I love being up north, and if my parents wouldn’t have taken me there or my family didn’t live there I don’t think I would love it so much. I hope that in the future I can have many more great life experiences.

Brenna M. Personality Project

The first slide in the Personality Project is on “My Family.” The picture of a family on the beach holding hands represents my family. There are four people in my family. Next to that picture, there is a picture of a dog. That is a Cairn terrier. My dog, who’s named Izzy, is a Cairn terrier. The last picture is of a bunch of little kids, 6 to be exact. I have 6 cousins in my family, and those little kids represent them. We are all very close, so that’s why they are holding hands.

The second slide in the Personality Project is on “Inherited Features.” I chose the first picture, which is of a girl with blue eyes, because I have blue eyes. I get my blue eyes from my dad. My brother also has blue eyes. The second picture is a picture of a little girl with brown hair. That little girl represents me, because I have brown hair. I get that from my mom and dad. My little brother has brown hair also. The last picture is of a tall person. I get the tall characteristic from my mom’s side of the family. My dad is tall, but his siblings are all short. So are my grandparents.

“Outer Appearance” is the third slide on my presentation. I have the picture of the American Eagle logo because I love to shop there. A lot of my clothes are from there. Next is a black hair straightener. I have the black hair straightener on there because I don’t like my curly hair, so I straighten it. Lastly, there is a picture of Asics shoes. I love to wear their shoes. They are comfortable and cute.

The fourth slide is on the topic, “Inherited Traits.” One of the pictures is of a pair glasses. I have near sidedness. I get that from my dad. The next picture is a pair of contacts. I got that from my dad also, because he also glasses. Lastly, there is a picture of a right hand. That represents my right handwriting. I get that from my dad AND mom. My little brother has right handwriting, also.

Next, there is the “Social Behavior” slide. The first picture is the game, Apples to Apples. I love that game. It is one of my favorite games. I love playing it with my family, cousins, and friends. Next, there is a picture of the Pewaukee Pirates logo. I chose to put this in because I go to school at Pewaukee and that I play sports for them. Volleyball is the sport that I play. Lastly, there is a picture of a mom and a daughter. I chose to put this because my mom is my role model. I learn everything from her. She is an awesome mom to look up to.

“Talents, Skills, and Abilities” is the next slide one the presentation The first picture represents me, as an Irish dancer. I’m an Irish dancer with the Trinity Irish Dance Company. The level that I’m at is the second highest level. It is difficult, but extremely fun. The next picture is of a volleyball player. That is the next sport that I play. I play it with school, every year. It is a fun sport where you get to be with your friends and enjoy the sport, at the same time. Lastly, there is a picture of a tennis racquet and ball. That is a sport that I only play in the summer. It is a fun sport, because you always are moving around.

The next portion is on the inside of me. The first slide for this portion is on “Future Plans.” The first picture is of the Irwin family. The Irwin family represents my future. I want to have a family of my own, just like the Irwin’s. Next to that picture is a picture of a girl holding up her diploma. When I’m older, I would like to graduate from both high school and college. Lastly, there is a picture of really cute little girls in ballet costumes. The job that I would like to get when I’m older is working at a dance studio for Irish dance or own a studio. That would be a life-long dream achieved.

“Eating Habits” is the very next slide. The first picture is of a bowl of chili crossed out. The one food that I absolutely won’t eat is chili. I don’t know why I don’t like it, it just is not good at all. Underneath that picture is a Moe’s Southwest Grill sign. I don’t go there very frequent, but their food is just great. The thing that I order the most from there is a cheese quesadilla with sour cream and homemade tortilla chips. That is one great meal. The last picture is of a piece of toast with peanut butter on it. This is my favorite after school, healthy snack. It has a great taste with it. I like many foods, but these foods just make my day when I bite into them.

The slide “Fears and Pet Peeves” comes next. My first picture is a picture of two parents yelling at their kid. This represents my parents and I, when we are not getting along too well. It bothers me that parents, not just mine, yell at their kids. I don’t like it. They should be able to get their emotions out some other way. Next, there is a picture of a line of Irish dancers at a competition. This is one thing that makes me nervous. Waiting for a long time for dancing really makes those nerves kick in. All of these thoughts go through your head, like will I win? Or will I mess up? Will the judge watch me? Those questions are just a few questions that run through my head before a competition. Lastly, there is a picture of a snake. Snakes really freak my out. They slither and make weird noises and I don’t like it. It really creeps me out.

The next slide is on the topic “ Favorites.” First, there is the number 7. The number 7 is my favorite number, because I am always lucky with it. If I want to win a competition, and I have the number 7, I usually do very well. It is really odd, but I like it. Next, there is a picture of a girl laying outside with some flowers. In the spring time, I love sitting outside reading a good book. The temperature is always perfect, not too hot or too cold. The flowers sitting next to you is such a pretty sight and they are beautiful. The last picture on the slide is of a little girl surrounded by everything pink. This little girl represents me. I have tons of things that are pink. My room is pink, my clothes are pink, and my favorite color is pink. Some people may things that pink things are for little kids, but that isn’t true. Pink can be anyone’s favorite color.

“Emotions and Feelings” is the next slide. The first picture is of a girl with her grandma. When I think of my grandma, I get sad. My grandma died a year ago from January. Even though it was a long time ago, I still miss her so much. We had so much fun together, and now those experiences are gone. The next picture is of a girl leaping off the ground, Irish dance style. Leaping through the air makes me really happy. I feel like an angel, floating through the sky. Lastly, there is a picture of a little baby crying. This is how I get my emotions out. Most people get their emotions out by crying, also. But others get their out by punching the wall, or someone else. Crying is probably one of the best way of getting emotions out, sad or good.

The very last slide is on “Life Experiences.” First, there is a picture of a little girl and her baby brother. This is supposed to represent the time when my little brother came to life. He was born when I was two, and the little girl looks like she is about two. Next, there is a picture of Irish dancers at awards. This picture is taking place at the World Irish Dance Championships. The girl the arrow is pointing at is NOT me, but it represents me getting second. In 2007, I came in 2nd at the Mid-American Irish Dance Championships in the age 11 category. That was a great day for me, and for every other dancer who had a great awards. My life is full of experiences that have been breath-taking and exciting, and my life is going to have about 1,000 more of them. Lastly, there is a picture of three trophies. Those are the trophies for the World Irish Dance Championships. I have not yet achieved that goal of winning World’s, but I have had many great wins that I get big trophies, just like the one in the picture. Irish dancing is a fun sport that is amusing, entertaining, nerve-wrecking, and allows you to have great loads of fun!

I thought that the personality project was very fun! It really made me think about my life in a way I had never thought about before.

During the my family section I used multiple pictures to represent my family. First, I used a Christmas tree because we always open Christmas gifts together. Next, I put pictures of me with my siblings because they are part of my family! Lastly, I put pictures of my cats because they are also part of my family, even though they are not people!

Next was inherited features. I put a picture of a blue eye, because I have blue eyes and so does my dad! Secondly, I put an arrow to a short person, because I am short, just like my mom. Lastly, I put brown hair because I got brown hair from my mom.

Thirdly was Outer Appearance. I put pictures of stores I like, because those are the clothes I wear. I also put brands I like to wear or carry, because those are a big part of my outer appearance.

Another category was Inherited traits. I started with glasses with a cross over them because I don’t wear glasses. Then, I put a hand with an R on it, because I am right handed, like everyone in my family. Lastly, I put a smiley with freckles and put an arrow to the freckles because I got freckles from my parents. This was a really fun category!

Fifth, was social behavior. I started with a picture of my phone, because I always text, and that’s a good way to be social. Next, I put the facebook logo, because facebook has chat, and I use it to stay social and talk to my friends. Lastly, I put pictures of me with my friends because I talk to them to stay social, and it is a great representation of staying social.

The last category for the outer part of myself was talents, skills and abilities. First, I put pictures of dance, because that is one of my skills. Next I had cheer pictures, for the same reason as dance. Last, was drama, because I really enjoy acting, and I think it’s really fun!

I started the outside of me with my future plans. First, I want to graduate from college. Then, I want to become a chef. And the TV represents that I want to have my own cooking show.

Next, was my eating habits. My favorite foods are popcorn and chips, which is why I put those pictures up. Next, was shrimp with a cross over it, because I hate shrimp. Lastly, was a picture of my favorite restaurant, Bravo!

Favorites came next. My favorite band is All Time Low, so that’s why I have pictures of them. Also, I have pictures of my favorite TV shows, The Secret Life of an American Teenager, Make it or Break it, and American Idol. Lastly, was pictures of French things, because French is my favorite class.

Emotions and feelings is next. I had a sad face with rain, because rain puts me in a bad mood. Next, was a angry face with the word favoring, because when my parents favor siblings for no reason, it makes me angry. Finally, I had a happy face with ice cream, because ice cream makes me happy.

Lastly, was life experiences. I started with Disney world, because I have been there on vacation. Next, I put a picture of Oklahoma, because I have been there to visit family. Lastly, I put a picture of Georgia, the Karastan carpet logo, and a TV. I did this because I went to Atlanta to film a commercial for Karastan Carpet when I was 5.

Overall, I thought this project was super fun! It was really cool to look at yourself in a way you don’t think about. Daily, I don’t think about my future plans or fears, but this project really made me think! I think using technology makes this project way easier. Also, when we can make a power point, we can use our own pictures making our personality project actually fit us. When we do it on our laptops, we can use our own pictures! I would improve, making less categories, but more things inside of the categories!
